How Can I Receive the Fresh Anointing?
We cannot reach the poor with the good news, or emancipate the captives or strengthen the eyes of the blind or lift the burden of the oppressed without “the Spirit of the Lord being upon us” (Luke 4:18). So how does one receive the Fresh Anointing?”
First, you must want it! You must believe that the “Fresh Oil” is what you need, most desperately. Fresh Oil restores, reinstates, reestablishes, returns, repairs, refurbishes and refreshes you. It is a necessity to living holy in an unholy world. You must want it, real bad! God will not give His anointing to glorify flesh. His aim is to get all of the glory for Himself. Our relationship with the Almighty trumps what religion brings to the table. True believers seek only to please God and not themselves. Matthew 7:22-23 says, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” May this never be said of you?
Second, you must know the One who anoints you. God has chosen us before the foundation of the world. He is the only One who predestines, redeems, and appoints. Our life under His leadership keeps us in close proximity to His authority and power. God’s invitation to us on receiving this “Fresh Oil” was not predicated on something we did but, available because of what was done for us. Christ’s atoning sacrifice and glorious resurrection paved our way to freedom. Freedom to live victoriously loosed from the bondage of sin. Ephesians 4:7 says, “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” We have all that we need but our adversary Satan, relentlessly attempts to change our minds about what God said. He wants to stop the anointing of God on our lives because, he knows the anointing destroys the yolk and will do damage to the Kingdom of darkness.
Third, you must Pray! There’s power in prayer! Life-changing power! READ Acts 4:31-35. You must trust the Lord! Commit yours ways unto Him! Confess your faults! Forgive one another! Get rid of the dead things in your life! Liberate malice, smoking, drugs, drinking, strife, hatred, foul language and lust; placing them in the trash where they belong. Consecrate your life back to God! He’s waiting with open arms.
Fourth, The Anointing is daily. Every day we should be looking for a deposit of Fresh Oil! With every new day come brand new mercies! 2 Corinthians 4:16 says, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” Every morning, we can expect God’s invasion in our atmosphere. A new endowment of His Spirit is the perfect start to the believer’s day.
Fifth, Learn to Repent. Acts 3:19 says, (NLT) “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” No matter how great a move of God comes, if you have not repented from the sin in your life, you are not going to be refreshed. Quit the 360° circle bringing you right back where you started; do the 180° turn facing the “Light of the Lord.” If you see yourself in Luke 6:46 which says, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” it’s time to change direction.
Ezekiel 34:26 (NLT) – “I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing.
When you do these five things, get ready to experience the manifestation of the “Fresh Anointing” and the fruit of the Spirit in your life. Get ready to love, release joy, keep peace, longsuffer, offer gentleness and goodness, flaunt faith, animate meekness and personify temperance. Are any of these missing from your kingdom?
